

October 3rd, 1926, Born in Plaucheville, LA to Emma and Henry English and married to Mackie Neyland English for 69 years. Horace served with the greatest generation in the US navy During WWII from February 1943 to June of 1946.
Horace and Mackie raised eight children and were active members of St. Catherine’s and St. James Parishes since moving to Texas. Horace worked for Gulf Oil in Port Arthur Texas until he retired at 55 years of age. Horace supported Mackie in raising tropical birds and running English’s nursery for years into their retirement. Horace loved volunteering at the food kitchen in Port Arthur, Tx and he loved camping with his family.
Horace is preceded in death by his loving wife Mackie English and grandsons Brandon English and Aaron Broussard, Brothers Richard, John Howard, James and sisters Elizabeth Rose, Terese and Marie. He is survived by his loving children Josie Marie Broussard and husband Norris, Kerry James English and His wife Sandra, Patrick John English and his wife Jan, Michael Paul English and his wife Cheryl, Allen Luke English and his wife Perry, Ninette Ann Phillips and her husband Blake Phillips, Dennis Mathew English and wife Rose, Johnnie Gerard English and Partner Joel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. English will be Tuesday September 21, 2021 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 AM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 at St. Catherine's. The committal will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials in in Mr. English's name to the Hospitality Center

Horace is survived by his brother Terry English from Baton Rouge, LA: 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
