J. Jesus Gallardo, age 78, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025. Born in Cotija, Michoacán, Mexico, he was the beloved son of Berta Oseguera and Magdaleno Gallardo.
J. Jesus lived a life marked by unwavering devotion, to his family, his faith, and his deep love for working with horses and ranch animals. From a young age, he found great purpose in the land and the creatures he cared for, always working with humility and strength. His hands built a life of love and sacrifice, and his heart beat for the well-being of his children, whom he loved more than anything in the world.
A devout Catholic, J. Jesus brought his strong faith into every corner of his life. He raised his family in Mexico with traditional values, later bringing them to the United States to provide them with greater opportunities and a better future. Even after settling in America, he made it a priority to return to Mexico when he could, ensuring his children remained close to their roots and extended family.
J. Jesus is survived by his loving wife, Angelina Chavez De Gallardo; his daughters, Angelina Gallardo, Marisol Gallardo, Guadalupe Gallardo, and Belen Gallardo; and his sons, Jesus Enrique Gallardo, Jorge Gallardo, and Alejandro Gallardo. He also leaves behind 24 cherished grandchildren, a host of sons- and daughters-in-law, and many extended family members and friends who will continue to honor his legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Magdaleno Gallardo and Berta Oseguera.
Serving as pallbearers are: Jesus Enrique Gallardo, Jorge Gallardo, Alejandro Gallardo, Walter Flores, Jose De Jesus Vargas, Jorge Ochoa, Jesus Vargas, Alfredo Vargas, and Walter Flores Jr.
Those who knew J. Jesus Gallardo will remember him for his wisdom, quiet strength, and the enduring love he gave so freely. Though he has departed from this world, his teachings, his laughter, and the warmth of his spirit remain etched in the hearts of those who loved him.
