Mary Kathleen Evans

Mary Kathleen “Nee Nee” Evans, 82 of Port Arthur, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 in Port Arthur surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born in Port Arthur on November 18, 1931 to the late Robert C. Davis and Virginia Grace Thompson Davis. Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. Kathleen is described by her family as a devoted wife, loving and involved mother, and proud grandmother. Kathleen was a newspaper carrier for the Beaumont Enterprise and was dedicated to her job, rarely missing a day. Kathleen enjoyed bowling and being involved for many years in the local P.T.A. Kathleen’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, Addison Lee Evans, brother, Robert Kenneth Davis, sisters, Shirley Ann Shaw and Elizabeth Susan Miguez.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Cindy Tate of Port Arthur; Lynn Evans Ashmun of Nederland; Gay Thul and her husband Tom of Groves; sister, Barbara Joan Truncale and her husband Anthony of Bridge City; grandchildren, Eric Williams, Kimberly Madero, Melissa Tate, Christopher Ashmun, Thomas Thul, Michael Ashmun, Gracie Thul, great grandchildren, Kelsey Richard, Ruben Granados, Felix Granados, Addison Firman, Brooklyn Madero, Sophia Madero, Brian Thul and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2014 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
