

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII and had retired from AT&T as a Communication Supervisor. He loved to play golf and was a lifetime member of The Patch, formerly known as The Pea Patch in Groves.
Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bertha Bourgeois; a son, Michael Wayne Bourgeois; his parents; 3 brothers, Jimmy Bourgeois, Murphy Bourgeois, Albert Bourgeois and a sister, Mary Vivian Hlavinka.
He is survived by his 2 sons, William Scott Bourgeois of Pasadena, Robert Gregory Bourgeois of Port Neches; a daughter, Marie Vanette Atchley of Houston; 3 brothers, Dr. Jerome Bourgeois of League City, Dr. Richard Bourgeois of Port Arthur, Tommy Bourgeois of Bridge City; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Nederland.
