Robert "Bobby" James Landry

Robert “Bobby” James Landry, 74, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016. Bobby was born October 12, 1941 in Port Arthur, Texas to Rufus and Wilma Landry. In 1981 Bobby moved to the O.W. Collins Apartments. He really enjoyed living at the complex and enjoyed the people even more. Bobby enjoyed watching T.V., reading from time to time and ordering from catalogs. His favorite past time was receiving things he had ordered in the mail. As a youngster Bobby loved to fish on Pleasure Island with his older brother, William “Buddy” Joseph Landry. Also, during his childhood, Bobby lived much of the time at “the farm” in LaBelle, with Grandma and Grandpa, Ida Lee and Mayonce Joseph Lene.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Landry and Wilma Viola Lene Landry; wife, Mickie Landry, and brother, William “Buddy” Joseph Landry. He is survived by many cousins: children of Wilfred Lene and Orie, Dixie Kethley (Jack), Darlene Ard, Cindy Buckner (Landis), Gene Lene, Richard Lene (Kay), Mike Lene, Tim Lene (Debbie), Dennis Lene (Joy), and Terry Lene; children of W. Jay Lene and Pat, Bill Lene (Katy), and Mark Lene (Vicky); children of Melvin Lene and Marie, Mel Lene (Tracey) and Cheryl Hancock (Wayne); children of Joyce Dalby and Harold, Randy Dalby (Ruby), Brad Dalby (Lucy), Lettie Chandler and Connie Cotter

A gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
