She was born on November 18, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas to the proud parents of Briely Brian and Gertrude Carrington Morris.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, granddaughter, Melanie Ann Bellair and son-in-law David Ciampo.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Jesse Marvin Bellair and their six wonderful children; Scott Marvin Bellair and daughter-in-law Dawn Bellair from San Antonio, TX; Christina Ruth Ciampo from Beaumont, TX; Catherine Edwina Lambert and son-in-law Greg Lambert from Buna, TX; Jessica Ilene Orgeron and daughter-in-law Laura Orgeron from Groves, TX; Jeanene Louise Gay and son-in-law Scott Gay from Port Arthur, TX and Loretta Dawn Blanton and son-in-law Gene Smith from Houston, TX along with her loving 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Ruth began a career in book keeping. She met her lifelong best friend and husband in Wichita. Together they settled in the Port Arthur/Groves area.
Ruth enjoyed volunteering at the hospitals and at PNG high school, listening to the PNG fight song, visiting with friends, shopping and playing Bingo. Her true passion was her faith and praising our Heavenly Father.
The family of Ruth Bellair would like to thank all of the staff at Oak Groves Nursing Home for the excellent care and support they gave her in the last 3 years of her life. We consider many of them and the residents’ extensions of our own family.
Visitation will be May 1st at Grammier-Oberle funeral home from 5 to 8 pm located at 4841 39th street, Port Arthur, TX. There will be a service celebrating her life on Wednesday, May 2nd at 11am at Grammier-Oberle. Graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.
