Travis Boone Miller, son of Larry and Susan Miller, was born in Nederland, Texas and a lifelong resident of Bridge City Texas. He was a graduate of Bridge City High School and attended First Baptist Church. After high school he worked as an aide in ICU at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur for several years. Travis was accepted into the crane operator training program and worked for Maxim Crane until he started his own lawn maintenance business which continued until 2019. At that time, he began working as a maintenance technician for Orange County Water Control District #1 in Vidor, Texas.
Travis was a kind soul, and could hold a conversation with anyone. He was generous and loving, intelligent and creative. The outdoors was the place he loved to be, and was an avid sportsman. Long hours of practice made him an expert marksman and he enjoyed hunting with his dad. Nature, animals, bugs and birds fascinated him; he took photographs and researched the things he found around him. For example, as he was digging a hole, he found a nest of turtle eggs. Not wishing to harm them, Travis made a habitat and watched over them until they hatched. With great joy, he conducted a release ceremony in the drainage ditch near our house while playing the song, "I Believe I Can Fly".
Travis taught himself to play the guitar, was a gifted musician, and was a member of a praise team from 2010 to 2012. He also enjoyed building and flying small drones.
As a problem solver, Travis was able to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions for difficult situations. Broken things captured his attention and became a particular challenge to his skill, creativity and persistence.
Family members preceding Travis in death include an infant brother, Waylon Miller, grandfather Calvin Miller, and grandmother Ruth Strickland.
Travis is survived by parents Larry and Susan Miller of Bridge City, brothers Ken Miller of Austin, Texas, and Marcus Miller, his wife Kazia and daughters Kiryn and Emery of Pflugerville, Texas; Grandparents Kenneth and Linda Bennette of Groves, Texas, SD and Jeanine Strickland of Bridge City; aunts and uncles Calvin Miller of Hempstead, Texas, Sandra Duhon and husband David of Arlington, Texas, Joyce Kean and Husband Tim from Hillister, Texas, and Kelly Bennette of Gilmer, Texas; cousins Clint Duhon, Andy Bennette, Aaron Bennette, Lacy Boles, and Wendy Fontenot.
