

David Overson was born on October 16,1939 in Racine Wisconsin to Cherwell D and Ellen (Larson) Overson. David was the second born out of ten children.
David grew up in Racine Wisconsin but moved to Lena Illinois where he graduated High School in 1958. He went on to attended the University Wi Madison where he graduated with a degree in Social Psychology and in 1962 under the Selective Service Systems Peacetime draft, he enlisted with Marine Corp Reserves.
David met his sweetheart Joan (Winch) Overson and they were married in Arena WI, October of 1965. David and Joan moved to Eau Claire WI where David was the Supervisor for the Win Incentive Program for the State of WI and later became the District Manager for Unemployment Compensation for the state of WI.
David loved living in Eau Claire and enjoyed their home in the country He thoroughly loved all things outdoors. He never missed opening weekend of deer hunting with his two best buddies and made a point to spend as much time with his family as he could. Summers were dedicated to traveling, camping and touring the country. David enjoyed history ,so many vacations were spent touring each states capital and visiting as many War Memorials as he could.
David was born to sing and he sang with a talent that few could match. He would sing at family gatherings, in his college A cappella choir, and honored many requests for various events by friends and family. He had the voice of an angel and a gift straight from God.
In 1999 after thirty three years with the State of Wisconsin David retired. Upon Joan's retirement, a couple years later, he and Joan decided to retire to Florida, building a new home in Port St. Lucie.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 Years, Joan (Winch) Overson, his daughter Ann (Bruce) Barker, his grand daughter Makayla Barker and step grandson Zach Barker. He is also survived by his Sister Kathleen Pruzek, Camille Stelter, Charlotte (Ron) Hensler, Bea Laine, Susan Overson, Barbara (Brian) Nash and many many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his Parents C.D Overson and Ellen (Larsen) Overson as well as His Brother Bruce (Kay) Overson, Mark Overson and his Sister Ellen Stey.
A Funeral service for David will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 3:00 PM at All Villages Presbyterian Church, 1550 SW Heatherwood Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986.
