My personal tribute to Nana

I'm sorry to see you leave us, Nana. Even though distance has kept us physically apart, only allowing us to see each other every few years in the past 20 years, you've always been close to my heart.

You are now at peace, together with your loved ones whom you haven't seen in awhile. 

As I mourn your loss, I am reminded of the happy memories of the times we spent together. The laughs we shared during holidays and visits, the amusing moments as a child playing with your German shepherds, the interesting conversations about both of our travels in Europe and our family history and the yummy meals you used to cook... I am also reminded of that creepy head bust of Jesus whose eyes used to follow me everywhere in your guest room. I would duck to the right, then to the left, up and down, he never took his eyes off me, meaning, he was and always will be there...

As you look down upon me from this moment on, I hope to feel your warm presence.

We will be together again, in time, 'til then, know that I love you, you are still in my heart and that I hope and pray your new journey is peaceful.
