Starting out as a Guidance Counselor, he worked his way up to Principal and then to the Executive level as an innovative creator of educational programs which benefited students throughout the city. Working in schools with students from many backgrounds, Jack had a passion for helping kids by identifying their talents and always tried to leave them feeling more confident, strong, self sufficient and independent so they could feel they could succeed without relying on others.
He was also an extremely proud United States Marine Corps veteran and a true American patriot. Jack was a successful horseman owning multiple wining thoroughbred and trotter racehorses.
He was an adventurer, an enthusiastic deep sea crew member for one of his sons businesses. His son was a USCG Licensed Master Of Oceans Captain and FAA Pilot owning and operating charter yachts and delivery of yachts for other yacht owners up and down the East Coast .The charter yachts needed seasonal repositioning and Jack was always ready for another adventure. He would travel through the night to meet his son, the yachts and their crews. They were skilled survivors navigating in all types of conditions creating a wealth of fantastic memories and stories.
Jack confronted his fear of flying by taking the front seat of aircraft as his son flew him over the beautiful Hudson valley and beyond. He lived life to the fullest.
He was a devoted Grandpa and loved spending time with his Granddaughter Chelsea, their weekly lunches will be remembered forever as her Grandpa always pointed her in a positive direction in addition to leaving her laughing. Many gatherings with his niece Jennifer and nephew’s Michael and David from the Upper Westside of Manhattan created fond memories and more laughs as well. In addition his very special friendships spanning many decades in New Jersey resulted in meaningful memories throughout multiple family members as well as so many friendships in New York and Florida.
Prior to relocating to Florida he lived in Manhattan, Hackensack New Jersey and Marina del Rey California where he experienced the California life as part of his retirement.
He is survived by his son Gabe, Gabe's wife Tess, granddaughter Chelsea, and sister CeCe, nieces and nephews Jennifer, Sarah, David, Robert and Daniel in addition to many fine friends.
A private military funeral with Marine honor guard was held In Lake Worth Florida at the South Florida National Cemetery for Veterans.
