

Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Jessie was a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1979, moving from Stony Brook, NY, where she lived 30 years.
She was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA and had taught in high schools in Pennsylvania and New York. She was a member of the Port St. Lucie First United Methodist Church and Mary Circle of that church. She was also a volunteer at Columbia Medical Center (a winner of the Frist Award for Service) and at the Windmill Point Elementary School. She was a member of the Port St. Lucie Woman’s Club.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Turner, in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia L. Turner, of Palo Alto, CA and a son, Edward C. Turner and daughter-in-law, Martha Saenz, of Potomac, MD as well as granddaughters, Julia Cooke, of Baltimore, MD and Andrea McClelland, of Greenbelt, MD and great-grandsons, Angus, Evan and Dean.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, August 19, 2011, 11:00AM at Harbor Place, 3700 SE Jennings Road, Port St. Lucie, FL with Chaplain Luther Humphrey officiating. Inurnment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Port St. Lucie First United Methodist Church or the charity of choice.
