Joan E. Dvorak

Joan Elizabeth Dvorak was an amazing Mother, Nan (Grandmother), Nanny (Great Grandmother), Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Her time with us was determined to be up on January 3, 2020. She passed away at 4:18 PM which gave her enough time to get up to heaven’s party for Friday night out - finally no oxygen, no pain, just free. Even getting ready at 4:18, she may still have been late!

On October 22, 1946 in Riverside New Jersey, she was born to her mother, Flora Brous and her biological father Harry Theurer. She was raised along with her sister Carol Ann, since the age of five by her super mom and perfect father Edward J Tumasz.

Left behind to finally fend for themselves are her four children: Debra Ames, Audra Winn, Cara Wichnoski, and her favorite son, Guy Wichnoski.

She raised two husbands, four children, four grandchildren (Ashlie, Kraig, Billy and Morgan) and seven great grandchildren (Jocelyn, Seth and Carson, William III and Cooper, Marlon and Isabella).

She moved to Port St. Lucie Florida on May 13, 1976. She was very active in the community with Girl Scouts, softball (both playing and coaching), football, and baseball. She was an entrepreneur with her own business, switched to helping everyone have fabulous hair and nails, later got into equine insurance, all the while being a more than proficient part-time party girl- she always made sure everyone around her was having a great time.

On top of all of that, she also held the title of Exalted Ruler of All School Projects from nursery school to college, participated in field trips, music, dance school- she designed and sewed elaborate costumes, cooked marvelous meals, made sure everyone looked great with fashion tips and keeping clothes fresh and ironed, (OMG who does that anymore) she was so artistic, drawing and painting, made beautiful timeless crafts, and the list goes on.

Topping off her list she enjoyed were just seeing new things, she loved new experiences. Whether it be enjoying Atlantic City or going on Cruises, hiking the Mayan Ruins, just being out on the go made her sparkle. She loved music, dancing, coffee, her cigarettes and having an all-around great time but of all those things listed, they were never put before her family which she loved even more. She put her daughters through dancing school and made all of their costumes, helped her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids with jobs, and school. If she didn’t know something, she figured it out. If you had something to say, she listened with her full attention - and loved to reply with her own stories. When she finally caught some time for herself, she would play bunco, dinners and dancing at the Polish American Club, catch up on the news, and make even the most basic outing (like going to the store) as significant as a night on the town.

She was the center piece for everyone for a very, very long time and will be forever missed.
