

John Barone, 89, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, beloved husband of Beatrice Barone, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born in Middletown, Ct. Son of the late Orazio and Domenica Barone.
Besides his wife, Beatrice, of 64 years, John is survived by his daughter, Lisa Barone and her fiancé Dwayne Whitaker of Port Saint Lucie. His son, John Barone of Fort Pierce, and Son in law, Edgar Pianka of East Hampton, Ct. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Pianka, brothers, Victor, Louis, Michael, Nicholas, Joseph and Robert. Sisters, Rose Laz, Elana Sapio, Sarah, Anne and Mary Barone.
John was a graduate of Middletown High School and a veteran of the United States Army.
He worked for his brother at the Shoe Hospital in Middletown, Ct. Prior to retirement, he worked at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, for 32 years, where he completed welding school and later became a foreman in sheet metal. John was very active in his community, he was very instrumental in starting a softball league, was a Cub Scout leader, Little League Coach and Co-Chair. He was a proud member of the B.P.O.E. Middletown Elks #771, where he was the Youth Committee Chairman for 14 years and in 1983 was honored as Elk of the Year. He Volunteered for the Junior Achievement Program, where he was business manager, financial advisor and worked hands on with the Kids and the group was awarded top honors.
Upon moving to Port Saint Lucie, Fl. He worked at Publix and The Met’s Stadium serving tacos in a helmet and known as “The Taco Man”. He truly enjoyed that job. He was a member of Saint Lucie Catholic Church. He joined the Saint Lucie Church Seniors Club, where he was a board member and later became President. He became a Knights of Columbus member, where he became a scribe and inner guard, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation of hospitality chairman and Knight of the Month.
He was a volunteer at the Pineapple Playhouse for many years. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing cards, Dominoes, Uno, going out to dinner traveling, cruising, dancing, the beach, camping, drawing with pen and ink, making furniture, NY Giants Football and The NY Yankees. John had a quick wit and was a great joke teller, loved to make others laugh and smile, loved life and lived it to the fullest.
A visitation will be held for John on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 Southeast Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34983. Church services will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Saint Lucie Catholic Church, 425 SW Irving St. Port St. Lucie, Fl. 34983 at 11:00 am.
