

Jack was born on September 22nd, 1928 to Mortimer and Irene O’Connor and spent his childhood in Yonkers, New York. He then enlisted in the Navy, where he worked as an aircraft technician. After leaving the Navy, he was employed by the Telephone Company and then started his Thirty-nine year career at IBM where he started out as a Customer Engineer, then worked as a Manager and completed his career working in Software Development.
He met his bride to be Gloria. They settled in Yonkers, New York and then moved to Yorktown Heights, New York finally residing in Port St. Lucie, Florida where he was an active volunteer in the Port St. Lucie Sheriff’s Department.
Gloria and Jack were great supporters to St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church and supported many fund raising events including those associated with the building of the new church. He was also a lifelong New York Yankees and New York Football Giants fan and enjoyed watching them as much as possible.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gloria, his sons John and Kevin, his daughter in laws Kim and Michelle and their four grandchildren, Zachary, Shaun, Lauren and Kellie Ann as well as his brothers Dennis, William, Robert and Thomas O’Connor.
There will be a viewing at the Aycock Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, February 18th followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie at 10am on Friday, February 19th.
