
JOSEPH THOMAS FRISCIA, passed peacefully on Tuesday evening August 12, 2014, after fighting a long, courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Joe was born 60 years ago to Salvatore and Julie Friscia in Brooklyn, NY. He married his childhood sweetheart, Mary, 38 years ago. Together they had two sons, Ron and Michaelangelo. Joe leaves behind sisters, Carla and Linda, and brother, Cesar. Joe was a civil engineer who left his mark on many projects in Port St. Lucie. He started his career at Ebasco Engineering Firm in New York and then relocated to New Orleans to work on Waterford Nuclear Power Plant. From there he partnered with engineer Bill Mathers. Seeing Port St. Lucie growing, Joe opened his successful engineering business, Friscia Engineering. During this time he volunteered for 2 terms with the Port St. Lucie Planning and Zoning Department. Joe was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church; he volunteered his expertise for the construction of their church. Joe’s legacy in the city will be shared by many to come. Everyone who knew Joe will remember him as an honest, down to earth person. His family will have a remembrance on Saturday, August 16, 2014, from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at his home, 1333 SE Coral Reef Street, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983; casual “Joe” dress, shorts and sandals.
