Laverne Porter

Born in Wyandot, MI, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 10 years, moving from Manassas, VA.

Mr. Porter served in the US Air Force.

Prior to retirement, he owned and operated LaVerne’s Carpet Cleaning in Manassas, VA for 20 years.

He was of the Methodist Faith.

Mr. Porter was predeceased by two brothers, Clarence and Ronald Porter; a sister, Cora Porter and one great granddaughter Madeline.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Porter of Port St. Lucie, FL; three sons, Benjamin Porter of VA, James Porter of MI, Roger Smith of VA; four daughters, Jerri Priddy of Jupiter, FL, Kelly Day-Heller of Canton, GA, Denise Sell of Baltimore, MD, Bridget Lane of Manassas, VA; five brothers, Russell Porter , James Porter and Kenneth Porter, all of MI, Doug Porter of Naples, FL, Victor Porter of MI; two sisters, Delores Jarrard of MI, Sylvia Schroeder of CA; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be private.
