I have fond memories of meeting your parents in Austria as well as when you all visited me here in Kentucky on your way from Minnesota to Florida. They were always upbeat and fun to be around. I remember them teaching me how to make corn on the cob in the microwave. I know how much your dad was loved. What an incredible gift. I hope your mom can gain strength from the love and memories she has received.  Love to all of you.

Dear gramps,
i would like to say thank you for being such a wonderful person / friend for me and my two little boys! When we visited you guys, i always had the feeling to see my own grandfather, for me, you have been my own grandpa. I remember the times when we played chess for hours, when the other guys have already gone to bed. I remember when we were fishing or we have gone to the gym, played racketball or minigolf or drank some real mans beer… We did a lot of things together… I really loved you man, i hope we gonna see each other one time in heaven. Phil was part of our Honeywell family and we have great memories of working with him.  Always a gentleman and a wonderful co-worker.  We enjoyed our Honeywell reunions in Florida - it was a fun to get together and share old memories from our working days.  Also enjoyed the great emails he sent.  He will truly be missed.  Our most sincere and deepest sympathy.

Dear Grandma, dear Mama and Mary!
From the bottom of my heart I would like to express my sincere condolences. Grandma, you were the love of his life and I admire the love and friendship you had for eachother. 

Dear Grandpa!
It is so unbelievably hard to say goodbye to you. I am beyond thankful for all the incredible memories we were able to make and share with eachother.  For me, it was always the highlight of my year to see you and grandma. I am so grateful that my boys Phil and Luis and I were able to spend 2,5 weeks with you for your 90th birthday. We had an awesome time together.

At your birthday party I held a speech and surrounded by our whole family, I was able to share my love, admiration and respect for you. We had an incredible relationship and I learned a lot from you. It was always a pleasure talking to you on the phone and you always said how much you loved to hear my voice. I will definitely miss our wonderful conversations we had together.

I am so glad that you were able to go peacefully and you got the peaceful end that you deserved. That was all that we wished for.

Phil and Luis love you very much and they are both so happy that they were able to spend as much time as possible with you.

Such a fabulous gentleman, family man, golfed til near the end. I had such a good time visiting the family where he made me feel always so welcome. Heaven gained a sweetheart, rest in peace Phil.

I really enjoyed getting together with Phil and Laverne the last two winters, reminiscing about old times about working together and even a Subaru wagon they bought from me! See photo. Phil was one of the few people at Honeywell who, deeply, appreciated my work for and with him, plus other programs. As a further memory for you folks, I will add a photo of a great memo, Phil wrote about me in 1979 of which I have kept close to heart all these years. Again, my sincere condolences. Wayne A. Dear all 
Phil was my father-in-law by deffinition. However, he was much more than that to me. Friend, buddy, backbone and advisor in all situations. More than 3 decades have passed since I asked him and Laverne for the hand of their daughter JoAnne and I was part of his family from the first second.  I would not want to miss a single moment of our time together. He also was the perfect grandfather and great-grandfather to our children and grandchildren. 
When I was a child, my grandfather said to me: "The legacy of your fathers lives on in you." That is exactly how it is. I carry Phil and the beautiful moments and time we spent together in my heart and will never forget him and keep his memory alive. 
I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his beloved wife LaVerne, his daughters JoAnne and Mary and his relatives.

Faith and I are saddened to learn of Phil’s passing. Rest assured that he is now safely and securely in the arms of our Lord. Phil was a man of integrity and would become deeply involved in those things he admired and cared deeply for. I remember that Phil would call to check on me and see how I was doing during my cancer treatment and absence from golf. I appreciated that immensely. RIP Phil!  Tom Fell
