Ronald Michael Caudell, 70, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, left this world to be with his Savior on November 17, 2020. He was the husband of Julie Anne Caudell and the son of the late Everett Eugene Caudell and Jimmie Ivester. He was a Marine and served in combat during the Vietnam War, eventually being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. On his return from the war in 1974, he became a Police Officer for the City of Tampa.
Eventually, he came to the Treasure Coast serving as an Officer, Detective, Sergeant, and then was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with the Port St. Lucie Police Department. During his service as an Officer, he faced many challenges including being shot in the line of duty while protecting another Officer. True to his nature, he recovered and went back to work until his retirement in 2014.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter Andrea Reid (Brandon) of Simpsonville, SC; his son Adrian Caudell (Christin) of Port St. Lucie, Fl; his daughter Kimberly Caudell of Port St. Lucie, Fl; beloved grandchildren: Alexis, Amber, and Adam Reid of Simpsonville, SC, and Evan and Lauren Caudell of Port St. Lucie, Fl; and his sister Glenda McClure (Willie) of Port St. Lucie, Fl.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in St. Lucie West on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11:30 am. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Ronald.
