

Born in Callicoon, NY, Russell was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 3 years, moving from Roscoe, NY.
During the Korean War, Mr. Mootz served in the US Army.
Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Mootz Sanitation in Roscoe, NY for 30 years.
In Roscoe, NY he was a volunteer fireman for 50 years. He also was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and gardener.
Mr. Mootz was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet and second wife, Fredyrnne.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Miller and husband Patrick of Port St. Lucie, FL, Tammy Mootz of Roscoe, NY; two sons, Russell Mootz Jr., and his wife Maryanne of Roscoe, NY, Scott Mootz and his wife Betty Jo of Roscoe, NY; step daughter Cecilia Anderson of Mexico Beach, FL, ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 or to Roscoe/Rockland Volunteer Fire Department, 1969 Old Route 17, Roscoe, NY 12776.
Services will be private.
