She was born in Portland, ME on August 10, 1938 a daughter of the late Leslie N. Chase & Marjorie (Greene) Chase of Portland, ME. Barbara was a lifelong Portland resident and attended local area schools.
Barbara enjoyed shopping Fashion Bug and “Penny’s” being a couple of her favorites; she also always had a phone in her hand, “the gossip line” as it was called. Her true love, however, was children and she was always there to baby sit when the need arose.
She is survived by her five sons, Richard S. Ramsey of Windham, Donald Ramsey of Peoria, IL, Dennis Ramsey of Dallas, TX, Jeff N. Ramsey of Portland and Mark A. Ramsey of Windham. She also leaves several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave, Portland.
