Allen was born on October 4, 1957, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Noel & Agnes (Deveu) Paul. He was a proud member of the Woodstock Band of Maliseet Indians as well as a valued member of Maine’s Deaf Community for nearly thirty years. He had relocated to southern Maine in the early 1990s and quickly formed many rich and years-long friendships in the community. Allen was always known for his generosity and warmth. He loved meeting new people and always seemed to make meaningful connections wherever he went.
Allen was predeceased by his father, Noel Paul, in 1964 and his mother, Agnes Deveu Paul, in 1980 as well as his siblings Joanne, Lorraine, Herbie, David, Christine, Hoppy, Mildred, and Loretta. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Allen was laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada.
A Celebration of Allen’s Life will take place on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Life Works Deaf Services, 8 Science Park Road, Scarborough, Maine.
