

She was born in Portland, ME on March 10, 1945 a daughter of the late Merton and Elizabeth J. (Blake) Soule. She graduated from Katherine McCalley High School, and then went on to obtain her radiology technician license from the United Hospital of Porchester, NY.
Betsy went on to work for the Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plains, MA, the Leighey Clinic, Woman’s Community Health Center, Intermed and finally the Gray Shop & Save.
She was a great supporter of the Ronald McDonald House, which she would make quilts for as well as the PBS Public Auction, which she also donated items to. Betsy was also an advocate for all women’s rights.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking, however her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also took comfort in the companionship of her Irish Setters and also breeding Siamese Cats.
She is survived by two sons Collin Scott Campbell of Coral Springs, FL and Charles Brian Campbell and his wife Lisa of Westbrook as well as her five grandchildren Danielle, Thomas, Benjamin, Chelsea and Bailey. She also leaves a sister Susan Shadley and her husband Gary of Ohio, and four brothers Merton Soule Jr. and his wife Debbie of West Baldwin, Daniel Soule and his wife Brenda of Yarmouth, Charles Soule of Cape Elizabeth and John Soule and his wife Sonya of Gray, a brother-in-law Paul Cunningham of Freeport and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Diane Cunningham.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Maine Medical Center SCU#3 and the staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Also a special thank you to all her dear friends and family from Brian and Scott for all the out pouring of love and support through this difficult time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave., Portland.
Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yarmouth will be private.
