Heather McManus

She was born March 21, 1966, the daughter of Bonnie McManus and the late Matthew McManus. In addition to her father, she was also predeceased by her brother Sean. She graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls, NY. She also attended American College in London, England. 

For several years she resided in Manhattan, where she managed several jewelry shops. In 2004, she moved to Yarmouth, Maine, where she continued working in retail and as a hostess at the Down East Restaurant in Yarmouth. She also worked as a personal administrative assistant at the Edite Kroll Literary Agency. She was an active member of the Thursday Night Book Group. 

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Bonnie McManus and Mark Barillaro. She is also survived by her aunt and Uncle Susan and Steve Stout of North Carolina, aunt and Uncle Mary and Jeff Finnan of Michigan, aunt and Uncle Robin and Rick Jones of New York, her cousins Marie and Jay Martinez of Maine, and several nieces and nephews. Additionally she is survived by good friends Lisa, San, Nicole, Edite, Ivy, Lola, and Leslie, Norbert, and Tom. Per Heather’s wishes, she has been cremated. 

There will be a memorial gathering at Yarmouth Community House, 179 East Main St., Yarmouth, Maine, from 1PM to 4PM on April, 28, 2012. 

There will also be a memorial gathering in Poughkeepsie, NY the date and time of which will be posted in the Poughkeepsie Journal in the near future. 

The family is asking that donations in Heather’s name be made to Mercy Hospital, 144 State St., Portland, Maine where she was treated with love, compassion, and dignity.
