OBITUARY

Nicki (Nancy) Susan Taylor

31 January, 1952 – 4 November, 2023
IN THE CARE OF

Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Portland

Nicki Taylor (Nancy Susan Taylor) of Harrison, Maine passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, November 4th. A long-time resident of Harrison, Nicki was born in Needham, Massachusetts on January 31, 1952 to John and Eloise Taylor.

Nicki graced those who knew her with remarkable empathy and thoughtfulness. Those traits were evident in the care she showed for her friends and family, her love of animals, and the extent to which she shared her many passions and interests with others.

Nicki was a caring daughter, sister, and aunt. She maintained wonderful friendships, whether from her time at Bates College, her work at the Bridgton Veterinary Hospital, or the Saccarappa Obedience Club. Her three beloved yellow labs, Ben, Gordie, and Sunny, were a source of joy for her and others. She was a talented artist – whether using a paint brush, camera, or quilting needle – and an avid gardener – each year tending bushels of vegetables and beautiful flowers. A gentle, light-hearted, and compassionate soul, Nicki added beauty to the world through her art, gardens, and kindness towards others. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Nicki is survived by her sister, Bet Gailor, of North Granby, CT; her brother Ken Taylor, of Laconia, New Hampshire, her nieces: Heather Moore-Wood, Heidi Fisher, and their father Frederick Moore; Martine Taylor, Nathalie Taylor, Lauren Nassiff; her nephews: Knute Gailor, Gipper Gailor, and Sam Moore; and many dear friends and extended family members. She is predeceased by her father, John H. Taylor; her mother, Eloise J. Taylor; her sister, Marcia A. Moore; and her sister-in-law, Marie Andree Brech.

A celebration of life will be held for Nicki on December 2nd, 2023. There will be a brief graveside service at the Village Cemetery in Harrison at 12:45pm, followed by a gathering at Ancora Italian Kitchen in Bridgton from 1:30-4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter or Assistance Canine Training Services, an organization that trains service dogs for people with disabilities. They can be found at: www.assistancecanine.org.
