Richard “Rick” Lawrence Higgins, 68, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born in Portland, Maine on March 2, 1955, the son of Lawrence and Sylvia (Hillock) Higgins.
Rick married Kimberly Moulton of Portland, Maine in 1981. The couple resided in Windham, Maine where they raised their daughter Kristine Higgins.
Rick’s passion for building/renovating houses was second only to his extreme passion for restoring antique & classic vehicles, creating highly customized street rods & hotrods, and his passion for Harley Davidson and custom motorcycles. Rick’s legacy and those stories being shared are testament to his golden heart, fierce integrity, passion for mentoring, and his always lending a helping hand to neighbors, friends and family.
Rick is survived by his wife Kim Higgins; daughter Kristine, her husband Peter Lopez and grandchildren Nikolas & Giovanni; sister Sundie Gentry; brothers Ron Higgins, & Randy Higgins; and by beloved nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, cousins and their families. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Scott Higgins.
A Celebration of Life will be held in late spring / early summer.
