

He was born in Brunswick, ME on December 15, 1959 a son of the late Walter R. Weitzell II and Alice S. (Field) Weitzell. He attended Jack Junior High School in Portland. Walter spent most of his life as an automotive mechanic and restorator.
Walter was a big NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed watching Jimmy Johnson. He also enjoyed cooking, and being in the comfort of his own home. Walter loved to sing and being with his family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Laura Lynn Kelley of Bowdoinham, Walter R. Weitzell IIII of Florida, April Dawn Weitzell of Westbrook and Robert Jonathan Weitzell also of Westbrook and two step sons Timothy Porter of Westbrook and Michael Poter of Chicago, IL. He also leaves his grandchildren Brittney Weitzell, Jenna Weitzell, Zachary Weitzell, Degan Weitzell, Amber Weitzell, Carina Porter, Ryan Jinkham, Joshua Kelley and Quentin Kelley, his sisters Jeanette Plowman of Gorham, Carlene Velazquez of Buxton, Susan Larrivee of South Portland, Amanda Cummings of Saco, Wilita Dang of Biddeford and three brothers James Weitzell of Lyman, Frank Peavey, and Thomas Peavey of West Baldwin as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Wilde Memorial Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave. Portland, ME.
Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Pownal, ME.
