Joe was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina on April 3rd, 1966. He graduated from Albemarle High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Science in Geology at the University of South Carolina.
For over two decades, Joe worked as the founder, president, and Principal Geologist at his company Highlands Environmental Solutions that he created in 2003. Highlands Environmental Solutions was one of the many things that Joe loved and he tirelessly devoted his time, attention, and skills to protecting the earth and helping others in times of crisis. Through Highlands Environmental Solutions, many of Joe’s clients and coworkers became his close friends and he cherished all of these people. Before Highlands Environmental Solutions, Joe worked as a police officer with the Cary Police Department from December 1998 to January of 2005. Joe delighted in being a police officer and had an extensive knowledge of the law, which he kept up to date even after he left the department.
When Joe was not working, he enjoyed cooking, going to the gym, being outdoors, spending time on the water in his boat with his family, and he most recently enjoyed gardening. Joe was a dedicated and loving father who jumped at the opportunity to spend time with his children and enjoyed teaching them to fish at Falls Lake, how to cook, and about geology. Joe loved participating in father-daughter dances and events with his daughter and participating in Boy Scouting events with his sons. Joe was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America and spent many years serving in a leadership role in this organization. Joe spent an enormous amount of time meticulously taking care of the things he loved including his home, garden, business, and his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Steven Mayse, his son and his son’s fiancée, Benjamin Beaman and Rebecca Clardy, his son Andrew Beaman, his companion, Christie Bates, his parents Robert and Sandra Beaman, his brother Gary Beaman and his many friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his grandfather and step-grandmother, Robert and Alice Beaman, grandmother Bonnie Beaman, and grandparents Arthur and Sara Roach.
The celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 1:15 pm on Tuesday, March 26th 2024 at Hope Lutheran Church. Pastor Wayne Puls of Hope Lutheran Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 12:30 pm, also at Hope Lutheran Church. A reception will follow the burial.
