Camille Damelio Epps passed from this life on May 4, 2025, surrounded by her children. We take joy in knowing she is reunited with her “one and only” Frank, her husband of 49 years, and together they are cruising Heaven in a Class A motorhome.
A resident of Dover, NJ from the age of five, Camille lived in her house overlooking Hurd Park for 71 years. It is the house she came to as a bride in 1950, and the home she left at age 97 to be near her daughter in North Carolina. Although she acquired a taste for sweet tea, Camille was a true and proud Jersey girl through and through. She often commented how finding a “good slice” or a “well-made Brandy Alexander” was near impossible in Raleigh.
Her family and friends knew Camille as a force of nature – constant in presence and generous in love. As a co-owner of Lakeland Trucking in Dover, she worked alongside her mother and brother to build a successful regional trucking company. As a mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Camille was there for whomever needed her love and support. And she so loved her husband – Camille and Frank traveled the lower 48 states in their RV and journeyed to many European countries, but their favorite trips were the visits to their grandchildren.
Camille is survived by her children, Theresa E. Tomlinson, Frank A. Epps III and his wife Pamela, and Edward A. Epps and his wife Linda; by six beautiful and accomplished granddaughters and spouses who saw their Nana as a role model for love and life; and by five great-grandchildren who dearly loved their Nona.
A celebration of Camille’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Wharton, NJ on June 7, 2025, at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation in Camille’s name to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson, https://ccpaterson.org/donate.
