Jerry Wayne Mosley, 82, of Raleigh, died peacefully at home Sunday, December 31, 2023 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, assisted by Transitions LifeCare Hospice and surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born in Nash County on October 27, 1941. As a young man he worked with his dad at the family store – Langley Brothers. He graduated from Coopers High School in 1959 and continued his education to receive a BS from NCSU in 1977. He was forever a devoted NCSU Wolfpack fan. Jerry served in the National Guard for 23 years, was a Mason with Cary Lodge #198, and a member of the Wolfpack Alumni Club.
Jerry was married to Jane Hurley Mosley from 1967 until her passing in 1999. Jerry remarried in 2005 to Lana Calloway and recently celebrated their 18th anniversary.
In every walk of Jerry’s life, he was wholly committed to giving the best of himself and making a positive difference. Over the span of forty-five years, he served Capital Ford of Raleigh with a dedication of purpose, symbolized by his passion for integrity, loyalty, and virtue. Many of those who served in his ranks will proclaim with conviction that they never worked for a more able, fair, and trusted leader. He became the face of the company to employees and customers alike. When he joined the Capital Ford team, it was a small dealership in size and production. Today, it is among the largest, most innovative and productive Ford dealerships in the country.
