
Before his recent relocation to Holly Springs, North Carolina, Manny spent the last twenty years in Florida. A brilliant man and a life-long learner, he taught himself to repair antique clocks…his second career after moving to Florida. He enjoyed a good meal, a good book, a good movie, and a good debate. He was also a pretty good dancer.
A devoted husband and father, Manny is survived by Anita, his wife of 66 years, his son Allen (Donna) of Chicago, and daughters Gail (Wayne) Turner of Holly Springs, and Robin Klidzejs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was Papa to his grandchildren, Dana, Tammi, Jonathan, Jeremy, Dan, Andy, Adam, and Kate, and Papa Manny to his great-grandchildren, Alexander, Brendan, Matthew, Max, Ella, Henry, Jack, Knox, Justin, Emilee, Ethan, and Hartlin. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all of them.
One of thirteen children, Manny was predeceased by his brothers William, Peter (Sandra), and Joseph, and his sisters Regina (Edward) Bolger, Esther (Allan) Haley, Bess (Anthony) Skurauskis, Anna (Jack) Tecktiel, and Yerra Miller. His is survived by sisters Yolanda (Victor) Nichilo, Rosalie (Irving) Rudees, Annie (Charles) Edwards, and Molly Spiliopoulos.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Rabbi Lucy Dinner, Liberty Hospice, Griswold Home Care, and Windsor Point for their care and support during Manny's illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on February 15 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, with internment to follow at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery, 450 North State Street, Raleigh. The family will receive friends at the home of Gail and Wayne Turner Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
