Qui was born on June 25, 1935 in Lake Lure, North Carolina to the late Robert Lee (WWI Veteran) and Queen Anne Davis Brown. She was a graduate of Lees-McCrae College. She retired from Raleigh Orthopedic Clinic in 1993, after more than 30 years as office administrator. Her prior employment was in medical records at Camp LeJuene hospital where her husband was stationed.
Qui is survived by her loving family; her daughter, Shannon O’Neal Mock and her husband Darin; grandchildren, Stephen and Martha Anne Mock, nieces and nephews, her brothers, William Robert Brown of Raleigh (Sylvia Jolles Brown) and Charles Hunter Brown of Charlotte (Shirley Sinclair Brown), and sister, Priscilla Anne Brown of Scottsdale, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Paul Saylor Brown Wendell (Barbara Morgan Wendell).
She loved cards and was an avid bridge member. Reading was also quite a passion of hers, and she often joked that her house "went to pot" when she was in the middle of a good book. She enjoyed yard work and took pride in her landscape. Qui was a co-founder of the Garden Club in Starmount. She was fond of FOX news and Nascar. One of her favorite joys was being with family and friends at her house on Lake Lure.
