Mildred was born on September 30, 1921 in Cumberland County to the late Sim Canady and Sarah Edwards Canady. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caregiver and she was deeply loved by all.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Daniel C. Herndon; and her brother, Bill Canady.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Jackson of Knightdale, NC; and Brenda Blood and her husband, James Blood of Carlyle, PA; grandchildren, Dendi Lawrence; Kenny Blood; Johnny Blood; and Danny Blood.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 5, 2011 at Green Springs Baptist Church in Parkton, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4th at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
