Nancy Mason Kemp

Nancy Mason Kemp, 87, died September 3, 2016. She was born in Burlington on September 10, 1928 to William Earle and Lillian Ferrell Kemp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Hope Gaynelle Latta and brother, William Ferrell Kemp. She is survived by her sister, Edna Earle Maclean, and many nieces and nephews: Lucy Latta, Karen Popovich MD, Wendy Latta, Kathy Simmons, Paul R. Latta, Kenneth Latta, Tim Latta, Bill Maclean, Jim Maclean, and Jack Maclean; great nieces and great nephews: JoAnne Latta, Caroline Latta, Heidi Latta, Hope Latta, Nancy Woodward, Jane Thomas, Bess Hall, Jesslin Thomas, Rich Latta, Joe Latta, Tyler Latta, Jordan Latta, Cameron Latta, Braxton Maclean, and Gordon Thomas; great great nieces, Kyra Latta and Luella Hall; and great great nephew, Dantee Thomas.

Nancy graduated from Durham High School in 1946 and from business college in 1948. She worked as an underwriter with Durham Life Insurance and Occidental Life in Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Millbrook United Methodist Church, 1712 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, 1621 Duke University Road, Durham, NC 27701, with a graveside service at 3:15pm.
