I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Cousin Charles. I felt so fortunate to have reconnected with him in Charleston South Carolina during the Levinson Family Reunion. We sat together for lunch and caught up on a lifetime. I loved his humor and felt blessed by his kindness.
Rest in Peace.

To the three Fine Young sons of Charles Levinson, Mark, Chuck, and Eric, who I knew, so many, many, many years ago, but haven't seen in a long, long, long time:  Please accept my condolences for your Dad's passing.  

Your Dad was a very special person in my life, and I sincerely hope you will accept this personally created, Ode to O. Charles, I wrote in his honor.

Ode to O. Charles
Saw the obit; the photo, too,
Of a very SPECIAL man, I once, knew;
Times, cherished, and memories treasured,
From OH!  SO LONG!  AGO, poured through!
Charles, you're much, much more,
Than, Someone, I used to know,
Quite a distinctive someone,
Don't cha' know?
We laughed and played,
Had lots of fun,
When you were Dad of two newlyweds,
And one younger son!
Mark and Brenda, Chuck and Cindy; Eric, his Mom, Emily;
Lavelle, Ann, and Joe; and Cindy, pretty, long, blond hair did flow;
In-laws, visits, family feasts,
Golda, of course, kept all aglow!
Golda and Hilda (my grandma, same age)
Enjoyed chatty visit;
Shared times of old days,
Neither one of them missed it!
I remember the Good Times, Happy Days!
Disco, drinks, morning haze!
La de da's, fine flashbacks;
Families, Fun, Golf Fairways!
In my book of life,
The Charlie chapter is important, and unique;
It was fun, while we lasted,
Although, did reach its peak!
And when you really love someone,
You want for them the best;
Happiness, love, joy and zest;
tis obvious you've met your quest!
Uniting with God, in His Heavenly Home,

I have fond memories of Uncle Charles.  I have always thought he was an influence in my life.  Along with my father, Uncle Charles gave me some of his sense of humor.  From my earliest childhood memories, I recall closely observing and enjoying the humor of my Uncle Charles. I want his children to know that I loved their father. He will always have a special place in my heart and mind.

Some of my favorite memories of my daddy's youngest brother, besides the fact that he was always funny, were that he would throw a baseball with me starting when I was in the 5th grade. I'm so thankful that my husband and I had lunch with Charles and Louise the Sunday after his 87th birthday. My son and his 3 children came over to the restaurant to greet and for some to meet him. We have a photo of all 4 generations from that day, January 10, 2016. Roy and I were able to spend that afternoon with Charles and Louise and play bridge. One of the things he kept mentioning was how much he admired our cousin, Sam Sidenberg. I loved my Uncle very much.
