Robert Samuel Digh

Robert was born August 27, 1926 in Lincolnton, NC to Samuel Franklin Digh and Wilma Caldwell Digh. He was married in 1944 to Ramona Gardner, of Lincolnton, and they moved to Raleigh in 1954. He was employed for 22 years with Westinghouse Electric Company and later EPA until his retirement. Robert also owned and operated Digh Electric Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, of 67 years, Ramona Gardner Digh; his parents and his brother Glenn Wesley Digh.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Gail Lehning and her husband Lawrence of Cary; Joan Helms and her husband, Ken of Raleigh; Robin Broughton and her husband, Bill of Raleigh; son, Robert Digh, Jr. and his wife, Denise of Independence, VA; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Pernell Ross of Aiken, S.C.,Mae Ledbetter, Noleen Davis and brother, John Digh and wife Phyllis of Lincolnton, N.C.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Millbrook United Methodist Church, 1702 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh NC 27609. Entombment will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, August 30, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh NC 27609.
