Dad truly cherished his time as "Gramps" and was the most devoted and proud grandpa. He was a huge part of my every day life and I already miss him terribly, but find it easy to think of a time, story, or memory to smile about.

Dear Holly (and family),  We were so sorry to read about your dad.  It's still difficult to comprehend.  I don't know if you remember us from when we lived in Rocky Mount.  Your dad was a favorite of mine, always with that gentle smile on his face, always soft-spoken, and most kind and generous.  I'm sure you and your family will miss him greatly. Bob and my Dad, Lou Grounds, were childhood friends who continued to spend wonderful times together even as adults with their own families.  I have many wonderful memories of him as I was growing up.  Always, always bringing his wonderful smile and sharing laughter with all who were around him. Bob and I go all the way back Pierre Navarre in 1953. He was my best friend and I will always remember the good times we had. He loved Julia, Holly and his two grandchildern more than anything.
