Roberta Joyce (Burkholder) Smith "Charlie" at the age of 91, passes away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 to join our heavenly father.
Roberta was born on May 29, 1934 in Akron, Ohio and remained until she met and married, James Tillman Smith, from New Orleans, Louisiana, a United States Marine at the time, whom passed in 1997.
They had three children, James Tilmann Smith Jr. (wife Angelia), William Ullman Smith (wife Teresa), and June Ileen Bland (husband Tom).
Devoted grandmother of James Kirk (wife Jennifer), Alex Smith (wife Julie), and Brandon Smith, Tonia Seaman (husband Jason), Roberta Ormond, and James Waldron.
Beloved great-grandmother to Dawson Zombar (fiance Tabitha), Dominic Smith, Tessa Smith, Logan Seaman, Luke Seaman, Hailey Scott, Aiden Dickens-Waldron and Camden Dickens-Waldron.
Roberta is survived by her longtime partner, William McCombs.
Graveside services will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600 ACC Blvd, Raleigh, NC on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11AM.
