What a special lady!  She always made me feel welcome and loved.  I  couldn't have asked for a better Mother-In-Law and Grandmother to my children.  She will be missed!  I love you!  Daniela 

My dear Coats boys - I am so sorry to see that your mom has passed. What a CHARMING lady - always kind to let me in her house at Saturday Cartoon-early any week of the year! And oh, how I loved the time she pulled over on the side of the road due to back-seat bickering - the FIRST TIME EVER I saw the weight of threat a flip flop could bear!  I will remember her fondly, and know Chestnut Hills has lost a truly phenomenal woman from its ranks!

Mike, Chris, Cynthia, & Daniela,  I wanted to send you hugs and prayers in the loss of your mom.  Your parents were VERY special people to my family. From Spartans to Wolfpack,  their kindness and support was incredible. I will never forget, watching her in the kitchen window, yet she never saw us, as we rolled the front yard for Chris's birthday that Friday night after the Sanderson game. Lots of sweet memories of your mom and her sweet smile. I can only imagine what our parents are talking about together now and about all their grandchildren! Grandma Shirley was such a GREAT GRANDMOTHER to our daughters Lindsey and Kyleigh. We were so lucky to have her in our lives... She will be missed!!

While I don’t know Mrs. Pegram,  I do know her son Michael,  daughter in law Cynthia and their three children.  The Hope family wishes to give sincere sympathies regarding the loss of their mother and grandmother.  May God bless you and keep you tight. Shirley has been a dear friend for a long time and will be missed by us.  We've played bridge, shared meals, and made lots of good memories at Ocean Isle.   We will be remembering  all the family in the days ahead🙏

I really enjoyed meeting Mrs.  Pegram while I was at Trinity Baptist Church.  A delightful woman with an infectious smile.  A great mom to one of those special great friends of mine from Trinity, Michael Coats. She will be missed. What a great testimony of GOD'S LOVE on earth. TGBTG!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Shirley will always hold a special place in my heart. She opened up her  home and provided a basement apartment for me to rent after my divorce. She knew how to live life and have fun at the same time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family members and friends during their time of loss.
 

Mrs. Shirley was never without a smile and a kind word for everyone.  She radiated joy and always made you feel special.  To the Coats and the Pegrams, please know that we have you in our thoughts and prayers.  We pray God will give you comfort and peace.  Love and hugs, Jennifer & Doug Vineyard

Shirley and I always talked about our shared birthday. Not the year but the date. She was always so pleasant and such a joy to be around. I will miss seeing her at church. 

Shirley was one of my Trinity kitchen volunteers who always served with a smile and a giving heart!  She was such an encourager and brightened conversations with her cheerfulness.  My life was blessed by knowing her!

Shirley was my Aunt. She was so loving and giving. I had four children under 4 before she had grandchildren. She would call me and ask if she could get them for the weekend. Who does that? My Aunt Shirley. I would meet her halfway and they would take off to Shirley and George’s house.  When I’d pick them up, all they could talk about was how much fun they had. They loved her so much. She would invite us and many friends to their beach house. Oh the fun we had!!! There is not enough room here to name all the things she did for me and my family. Aunt Shirley was one in a million.   You were such a wonderful inspiration to so many people.  We will miss you dearly, Aunt Shirley 💔

The most incredible Grandma my sister and I could have ever asked for. Even though we were not her blood, Grandma Shirley never treated us any different than her other grandchildren. She was one of our favorite people, and we will miss her dearly. 

Shirley was a beautiful lady.  Being with her and enjoying events together was a joy.  I am sad about her passing.  Dorothy
