Suzy was born in 1945 to Ellsworth and Francis Nichols in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Wheaton College in 1967 and received a master’s degree in education from Boston University in 1971. Early on, Suzy could be found on the tennis courts or a ski mountain. Her first child, Slater Jr, was born with cerebral palsy and her time was redirected to his needs along with those of her daughter, Corey. In her other time, she could be found tending her gardens or creating crafts in Sherborn, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Slater, her daughter Corey Riley and two grandsons, Colin and Adam Riley of Raleigh, NC. She also leaves a twin brother Ellsworth (Sandy) Nichols, and two sisters Francis (Penny) Lapham and Nancy Martin.
A burial service will take place in Manchester, Massachusetts later this year.
