Vernon Ray Cason, age 70, passed away on December 31, 2015 at his home in Raleigh. He is the son of Harvin Cason and Leona Crews Cason. Vernon is survived by his two daughters; Pam Cason of Raleigh, Julie Cason Pegram (Ron) of Apex, NC and brothers Joe Cason (Lillian) of Chattanooga, TN, James Cason (Jean) and Waymon Cason (Cheryl) both of Cumming, GA, granddaughter, Hannah Pegram of Apex, NC, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Vernon moved his family from Atlanta to Raleigh when he became the operator of Chick-Fil-A at Crabtree Valley from 1974 to 1995. He truly loved serving his customers and the interaction with his employees. In his later years, he worked part-time at other Raleigh Chick-Fil-A units.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11AM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. Family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
