William was married to Grace B. Morris, the love of his life for 40 years until her death in 1985. He retired from the Department of Navy as an Electronics Specialist after 30 years of dedicated service. In retirement, his family was blessed to have the most encouraging, loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather.
William is preceded in death by his brothers, J. Monroe Morris, Roswell A. Morris, Joseph A. Morris; sister, Francis Morris Gray and parents.
William is survived by his sons, William H. Morris, Jr. and his wife Peggy and Robert E. Morris and his wife Lucy all of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, David Brian Morris and his wife Tammy of Raleigh, NC, Robert E. Morris, Jr. and his wife Jena of Raleigh, NC and Stephen G. Morris and his wife Valerie of Amelia, VA and great granddaughters, Hannah and Makayla Morris of Amelia, VA.
