I will truly miss my Grandma Ada so much. She always had time to play with us when we were little.She was a great person and I'm glad I will see her in heaven. We can talk all the time. I will miss you Grandma Ada.

I'm Carmen Jones daughter of Neoma Hayden. As you hear everyone speak of Grandma Ada's unconditional love. I can't help but to feel like I'm an example of her love. Grandma Ada was by no means oblligated to me, But still she has done things for me my biological family would not. I was never forgetten or left out of any event. My Grandma Ada would always take the time to make me feel like I was special to her. I know she has shown me how to love, Grandma has shown me how I want to love, And how I want to be loved. Ada Mae Hubbard you will always be the perfect example of a lady. I will draw from all you have taught me for the rest of my life. Grandma Ada you will be missed.

Grandma:
What does God concern beautiful?  Will what I think God belives to be beautiful is when a person lives out thier life in true faith and trust in him.  well I belive Ada Mae Hubbard was one of those people.  She  lived her life with God, her marriage, and the way she raised her children and grandchildren and  through everdaylife experiences. She didnt concern her self with fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.  She was way beautiful because of her grace 
God gave her through her life.  Ada just loved God and her family all her  days.  I can remember when her and grandpa would take me and Donavan to the ocean for the weekend. Thats one of the times when Donavan and I really got along with each other besides the times when we went to aunt Pat's house to visit.  Really to be honest I'm really going to miss her.  Sometimes in my life I would get weary about the woman I was becoming. But now I am and what strong women I come freom and I thank God for blessing me with a grandmother that truly loved me with all of her heart.  Most people dream of having a strong family like mine.  I know just like Jesus prepared a  place for us in heaven thats where she is waiting for us.

Grandma was the most loving person ever.  I really wanted to visit her once more.  I thank her for everything she did for me.  I remember when she used to push me around in the wheel barrow.

Grandma Ada was my great grandma.She was the best great grandma anyone could ever ask for.I loved spending time with her when I was little. Ada Hubbard is my grandmother.  What I remember about my grandmother is how when I was young she would tell my mom to keep working with me due to I have cerebral palsy and I had to stretch my legs so I wouldn't need the surgery so I could do things like walk and play sports.  She told me never let anybody tell me no because I could do anything I put my mind to because I was a special guy I was the same as everyone else in this world.  No matter whst my grandmother cook it was great.  I will always miss how she and grandpa help me in my life.  I wish I could of been there more. To the greatest great grandmother
I'm her eleven year old great grandson, David Yates, Jr.  She always attended my football and basketball games even after her surgery.  When I did something wrong she was in control but always corrected me with a soft sweet voice. I knew I was special when she took my toys my mother was throwing away home with her.  When I was young she would call me at bedtime to tell me she love me and tell me bedtime stories until she knew I was asleep what a loving memory that is.  I love her and miss her bunches.

Ada Hubbard was a loving wife a caring mother and an excellent grandmother and great grandmother.  I for one will miss her.  I will miss gathering for Thanksgiving meals and the trips to Eureka in the RV with Grandpa and Peanut.  My grandmother was one of the few people I knew who was descent, honest, selfless and beautiful everything God wants us to be.  I will miss the stories she told I try to remember them but they never sound right, and they never will.  My grandmother was there everytime I needed her to be my football games, my wedding, all my childrens birth.  It kills me that I couldn't be there for her like she was for me.  The world seems a little darker since she is no longer here to brighten it up.  And my children will feel her love through me.

I HAVE WAITED UNTIL I WAS THE LAST IN MY FAMILY TO WRITE SOMETHING ABOUT GRANDMA ADA.  THE FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MIND WHEN I THINK OF HER IS WHAT A WONDERFUL LOVING PERSON SHE WAS AS A GRANDMA OR FRIEND IT DIDN'T MATTER SHE WAS GOOD TO EVERYONE.  THE WORLD WAS SO LUCKY TO HAVE HAD SOMEONE AS SPECIAL AS MY GRANDMA.  EVERYDAY I THINK OF HER I WISH I COULD GO BACK AS A KID AND RIDE MY BIKE TO HER HOUSE AND HAVE HER MAKE ME AN OUT OF THIS WORLD SANDWICH.  WHICH WAS MADE WITH PEANUT BUTTER AND COOKIE SPRINKLES IT WAS GREAT.  WHEN I WAS LITTLE I TOOK A BALLOON AND FILLED IT WITH WATER SPRAYING THE HALL WITH WATER. THAT WAS THE ONLY TIME SHE EVER WHIPPED, ME I BET I NEEDED MORE.  I MISS YOU, GRANDMA, AND I LOVE YOU. THE WORLD HAS HAD A GREAT LOSS FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T KNOW YOU. Ive known my grandma for 22 year's and Im 22 years old now. My grandma was always there to lightin up the mood nomatter if it was a rained down football game or a cold christmas morning with gifts that were bring brought by grandma; grandma was always there to ensure me there are people that care. Grandma would make outstanding thankgivings dinners and always ask me how life was going and if I was on a good path. grandma and grandpa's presence alone of there sixty-five year old marriage opened up a door in my life that I can now grasp and say that I can get old with somebody and die of old age with that somebody there by my side. Thats the most beautiful thing that comes to my mind from such a beautiful good person like my grandma.

It's taken me awhile to find the words I wanted to say because I thought it would make them more final once I said them. But then I realized that all my thoughts of Grandma Ada are kept alive by feeling and reminiscing on them. 
I miss going over there to see her and Grandpa before I would leave out of town. I remember being so worried about her to the point where I missed fire calls to stay at the hospital when she had her surgery in 2009. She told me that she knew I was there the whole time. Even when she was in pain and not feeling good, she would still be selfless enough to ask me how everything was going in my life.
Going over to their house is the one place I always feel at ease from anything. 
I remember being little and all of us kids would be down at Anderson River park. We were suppose to be at the summer activities, but instead we were down by the Sacramento River riding our bikes in the water. Grandma and Grandpa just happened to be down there that day and saw us. Of course they told on us and I can't remember even being mad at them for that. We were being bad and I'm glad we had someone that cared enough about us to make sure we did the right things.
Grandma Ada was so special, we even called Grandpa, Grandpa Ada. Grandma gave me a bottle of the perfume she wears a few months ago and every time I smell it, it's like she's right here.
Grandma, I'm glad your not in pain anymore, even if that meant you had to leave us. I love you and I miss you Grandma Ada.

My mother was the best mother in the world to us kids. She was always there for us when we were sick or hurt. I remember a time when one of my sister had me on thier back and I fell on the floor and hit my head on a nail on a drawer. I ran to Mom and she made me feel a lot better. Mom took me to base ball practice and games.  We went to the river to fish. I sure will miss my mom I loved her so much. She loved life and the people around her. She helped me to look at life the right way. My Mother will always be in my heart. I will miss you now Mom, but will see you Later. Love you forever.

My Sister Ada:

Ada was the fifth child in our family. She was eighteen months younger than me. I was short and Ada was tall. As a child she had a lot of energy. She loved to play and climb trees. Ada was loved by all the children in school. She could run fast, play ball and play any game the boys played. They all loved her.
Ada loved the family and was always there in time of need. She and her husband Arthur would drive hundreds of miles in their motor home when a member of the family was ill. Ada was with our mother when she passed away. Ada told me she could feel the presence of Jesus when mother passed. Our oldest sister in Washington was ill and Ada and Arthur came and were with Monzella until after the funeral.
Ada loved her home and family, especially being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved all children and they loved her. She was always there for them.
Ada's mother-in-law was a special person in her life. She was a dear loving lady.
When Ada and I were little girls, we lived on a 200 acre farm in Missouri. We had all kinds of animals. We had chickens outside of the yard fence. We had a white rooster that would fight. When I got out of the yard, the rooster would come for me. I was afraid of the rooster. Ada would come out to protect me and the rooster would go the other way.

Ada was a wonderful wife and my very best friend of 65 years.  I couldn't have picked a better mother for my children.  I have had lots of joy and deep love in my life with my best friend and wife, Ada.

Grandma Ada wasn't my grandma for my whole life, but I felt like she was.  I married her grandson almost 12 years ago.  She always made me feel like I was part of her family.  She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.  I will always remember that if they would get in trouble and cry, she would too.  God gained a very special angel that I know is looking down from heaven and watching over her family. 

We spent a week with her and Grandpa Arthur several years back.  She injured her leg while we were on the way there.  She was so sad to not be able to run around with us and chase the grandkids.  We really enjoyed our time with her though, just sitting and visiting.

Thank you for being the wonderful grandmother that you were.  Love you bunches!

Ada Mae Hubbard's Funeral July 12, 2012,
Background:
My grandmother (Ada Hubbard) had said that a small service should be held following her passing and individuals could say a few things.  I did say a few things and my mother (Patricia Mae Jones, the eldest daughter of Ada Mae Hubbard) requested that to the best of my ability record what I had said at the funeral for the memorial of my grandmothers passing. 

I felt that a number of people especially my grandmother's three children, her grandchildren and many of the children that my aunt (Naomi Hayden) had raised as her own and Ada (my grandmother) also provided them the love and compassion of a grandmother. 
After my grandfather, all three children spoke, and many of the â€œgrandchildrenâ€ spoke, I had a good idea what I wanted to provide clarity of what we had all had in common.  My mother had said in part that as a young mother she said that she had at some points had felt overwhelmed and her mother (Ada) was there to provide that support while allowing her always to be mother and my grandmother to fill that role.
Carmen Hayden (now a young lady that had been taken in by aunt as a child) said that Ada was her grandmother that showed her the love and affection that surpassed that of that shown by her own â€œbloodâ€ relatives and how important and appreciated that was.
My Discussion:
I want to continue what everyone here has said and what a great testimony that Carmen has given.  My grandmother was the giving and loving person that saw the best in people and saw the person that you could become.  She gave a piece of herself openly to those related by blood or not equally and without abandon.  What an improbable story that the journey took.  My grandmother and my mother (my grandmothers eldest daughter) were young mothers (I am my mother's only child).  So by happy circumstances when I was young I got to stay with my grandmother, my grandfather, my aunt (Neoma, my mother's middle sister, 13 year old when I was born) and my uncle (Jeff the youngest sibling 9 years old when I was born).  Now when my folks would come to take me home you would have thought that they beat me or something from the scene that I would put on.  But my folks were great and it wasn't about that.  My grandmother was such a caring and loving person that the people around her also I believe received a piece of that from her.  My grandfather, my aunt and uncle were the best that anyone could of ever have asked for and the love and caring my grandparent's house was amazing.  
I believe that was my grandmother's greatest gift which was giving freely to us blood related or not, her family.  She saw the best in us; allowing us to be better people and bringing us all together.  She would have wanted us to be happy, to love and help one another, and I see a piece of her in everyone here.  She truly deeply touched those who she came into contact with.  That was the person that my grandmother was and she lives on in all of us as she was a special person who gave a piece of herself freely and without abandon to those around her.   

Not said by in my thoughts:
What a truly a blessing from God my grandmother was.  How she helped all of us.  I will miss her encouragement, her love, advice, and the â€œglueâ€ (food etc.) that she brought to our family.  She told me when I was young that God had someone special picked out for me.  I am so grateful for the love and support of my wife Yvonne, I only hope that the lessons that my grandmother taught me and the love and admiration that my grandfather gave her will help me be a better husband, family member and better person into the future.  Let your life be testament to us all.

Heaven's gain is our great loss.  I first met Ada in the summer of 1963, it didn't take long to realize that she was someone very special.  

I have always told people that my in-laws' walk on water.

All the years I have been around Ada, she has touched many lives with her tender loving ways.

Ada was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She always took great care in the way she dressed and kept her home, because these things were part of who she was.

Ada will always live on as long as we live for she has branded our hearts with her great love.  HGer physical presence will be missed but the love of her spirit will always be with us.

Who was my Mother to me? By Patricia Mae Jones

My earliest memory was my Mother's love, warmth, tenderness, the safety in her lap her tender hands across my forehead softly singing a song.  As I got older it was her tender wisdom in the way she would teach me about the rongs and rights in doing things.  I remember when she would get on her hands and knees and put the past wax on the floors.  She would let us put on socks and run around and slide on the floor which was a no-no, but she was getting her floor shined.  If we knew we were working it might not have been as much fun.  I always had a birthday cake made by my mother that not only tasted good but she could make beautiful cakes.  We spent hours painting she would help me with mixing my paint colors so we could paint flowers on wood cut outs dad and mom made.  When I had my son Jerry, I was so overwhelmed with being a mother; she was there to help when I needed her.  She always made me feel I was the mother to Jerry and she was my support and help when I need it.  I will miss our long talks we had for years in the mornings.  Every morning around 9:00 we would have mother and daughter time on the phone.  I loved every minute or sometimes hours.  I missed having those times after mother got sick.  Mother got where most of the time she didn't like talking on the phone because she was so sick, but a few times she made a real effort to call me and we would talk only for a short time.  Thank God, I always said “mother thank you for calling me you made my day”, and she did.  When mother got sick, I asked God to give us one more year and we got three years.  My mother was in a lot of pain most of the time but we had lots of moments of hugs, kisses and I love you's.  The day mother died was a big loss to my family but the blessing and joy I had for 63 years of having her in my life really out ways my loss for I have lots of memories she gave only me.  If I could tell you who my mothe is it is this not 4 months ago mother said to me I wish I could go back in time when you kids were little and do it over again.  I said “oh mother you wouldn't, would you”?  She said yes she would.  I understand now what she was saying.  It wasn't about going back to change things she didn't have to we had a wonderful childhood it was about her experiencing the joy she had with us kids when we were home, being a mother is what defines her.  I am so glad she is my mother and I love her dearly.

Ada told me once that she had the best Mother-in-law anyone could ever ask for. But I think that I had the best Mother-in-law in the world. In truth she was so much more than that. she was a mother, a teacher, and a wonderful example of what a wife and mother were supposed to be. She was always ready to lend a helping hand. She lived what she preached. She always found the good in everyone.She always had something encouraging to say. She was always ready with a sholder to cry on as well.
 She loved little children and they loved her. Especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were very special people to her.
   If all the people in this world were as sweet and kind and loving as she was , what a wonderful world this would be.
   I will miss her so very much, but know I will see her again in heaven.

My Grandma:
What can I say about the worlds best Grandma that everyone doesn't already know.I have heard the saying "Angles walk among us"I know that is true because my grandma was an angle here on earth.When I think of her going to heaven, I picture her walking down cobblestone streets and in the distance the pearley Gates, and Jesus telling St. Peter to take a break that he had been waiting too long for grandma Ada not to be the first one to see her and welcome her home.
     I will miss everything about her. I had a special bond with my grandma. I think sometimes it was because I look so much like my dad.How much God must have loved her, to let her watch her son grow up all over again. 
    When I cried she would cry and when she cried I would cry.
   I loved my grandma so much and I am a better person because I knew her. Most everything I know about the Bible is because of her. I want to live my life like she did so I can make sure to go to heaven. I want to hug my beautiful grandma. They say everyone should witness a miracle, and I did for 36 years and it was my grandma Ada. I will miss her everyday till I see her again. I love you Grandma Ada.

I'm so thankful that I was chosen to be my mother's daughter.  I got to feel her soft arms holding me that let me know I was okay and the love that she made me feel when I would be at my lowest.  She would cry and laugh with me.  She was my best friend.  When my family started my momgave me support and the love she gave each one of my children makes me so proud that she is my mother.  We will miss her wonderful meals and the good times we had with her but they will never forget:

First, I would like to extend my hugs and love to the Hubbard family for their loss of such a special person. I feel a deep sadness for my absence. I wish I could be there with you all to relive memories,lend a shoulder for tears, and especially to hold my Aunt Neoma. You guys have always been an extension of the Hayden family and loving to all of us. From my childhood to the last time I saw Grandma Ada she was always so pretty,kind, and loving. I remember me and Donnella spending time over at the house with her and she treated me like I was one of her own grandchildren. All the way to the extent that I remember even asking if she was my Grandma too. That house still stands as one of the most peaceful places on earth, sanctimonious in my memory. 
Some of my fondest memories come from the Thanksgiving dinners and those delicious pecan pies. I would eat those pies until my body couldn't contain anymore. In the early 90's one of the dinners were recorded on video, we watched it over and over. Me stuffing my face was hilarious to her, she loved it, we laughed about on quite a few occasions. 
I personally do not believe it is tragic to pass on after living a full happy life. How beautiful it must have been to share the life you chose with the one you love and the family you nurtured. I feel blessed to have shared time with her and experience the peaceful kindness she showed me. I will miss you Grandma Ada.
