He was drafted into the Army in 1943 and served in both the Army and Air Force and later in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He served his country with distinction, fighting in both World War II and the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gardner, and his three daughters. Jane Gardner of Washington, Kelly Davis of Kentucky, Julie Wright of Anderson, along with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Chapel Services for Charles Robert Gardner will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 3rd at McDonald's Chapel Funeral Home with burial at Redding Memorial Park directly following.
Rich Valles, an Army Vietnam Veteran will officiate.
A Celebration of Life will be following the burial at the VFW Hall, located in Anderson, for close family and friends.
