9/17/1929 - 7/25/2012
The last chapter has been written under the heavenly stars and all is well. Yes, there is a time for everything...she had a magical childhood together with her family in the garden of Eden called Wildwood. It was her home and her precious mother and father told her the stories about the world and how to live in it. She laughed and cried together with her family...but most of all she rejoiced with wonderful memories. She grew in a childhood world of reality and make-believe and the combination gave her comfort. Her mother, Ruth Richmond, gave her the gift of passion and lessons leading to a spiritual life. Her father, Miles Richmond, was strong and brave and gave her courage to meet adversities. He was a man of principle and taught her to do the right thing. Love was always there for her. Dolores was a scholar of literature, a collector of art, an avid cursive writer of personal letters, and a loyal daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend. She never asked for much...and enjoyed the simple pleasures of caring for a flower or eating a good apple. She will be missed by Miles Richmond, Jr. and Betty, her brother and his wife. She enjoyed the many stories written about her by her brother who referred to her as Paige Turner.
She will be missed by her niece Debbie Meyer and husband Rollin and their children Alex and Lauren. She will be missed by nephews Miles Richmond, III and wife Pangaea, Mike Richmond and wife Maddie and daughter Katie. She will be missed by Josie and Tee Scalise and Mary Lipscomb, her sisters-in-law with whom she shared many holiday meals and good times. She will be missed by all her pen pals and close friends who shared their lives with her. She was an honor student of Dunsmuir High School and an honor graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. She supported community activities and loved the Sons of Italy gatherings.
Her ashes will be placed next to her late husband, Joe Scalise, who passed on July 26, 2007. Remembrances may be sent to the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1051 North Davis Ave, Weed, CA 96094.
