

Services for Winnie Rambo, 83, of Redding will be held at McDonald's Redding Chapel on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10 a.m.Mrs. Rambo died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Oakdale Heights Assisted Living. Born on December 22, 1931, in Dubberly, LA, she moved to Shasta County in 1960 from Buena Park in Southern California.She was a very successful real estate agent/broker and property manager.She enjoyed crossword puzzles, camping, boating, waterskiing, and playing 21 in Reno. She made playing Scrabble after Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners a family tradition. She was an excellent seamstress and made countless matching outfits for her two special granddaughters. She was especially famous for her mouthwatering deep-dish homemade pies.She is survived by her only daughter Elizabeth "Lynne" Yardley and husband Dennis; granddaughters Cindy Rickard and husband Kenny, and Annette Yardley; great grandchildren Cody Ray Yardley, Colton Rickard, and Cara Rickard; nephew Charles Gilbreath and wife Chris, all of Redding; sisters Golda Robinson of Muskogee, OK and Zeta Brooks of Brownwood, TX.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Johnny "Ray" Rambo, parents Jack and Nana Lou Martin, sisters Harriet Gilbreath, Catherine Broussard, and brother Hartwell Martin.The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Oakdale Heights Assisted Living, and to Mercy Hospice for the loving care they provided to our mother and grandmother during her difficult times.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northern California Veterans Cemetery.
