Joseph Laverne Harris

Joseph L. Harris was born in Wayne County April 14, 1931, the youngest of four children raised on the family farm until going to work for General Telephone. He was also a member of the Illinois National Guard. He moved to California in 1955 with his wife and two children. Where he went to work for Citizen Utilities Telephone Company. He retired from the company as Burney District Manager for 28 years. His death was preceded by his wife Ann, bother Ray and two sisters Reba and Fern. Survived by his two children Terry and JoAnn Harris, four grandchildren’s and three great grandchildren. Grandchildren, Laura Jonland , Jessica Harris, Bobby Hunt and Katelyn Harris. Great grandchildren, Liberty Jonland, Lydia Jonland and

Vannessa Hunt.

In Lieu of Flower’s the family ask that donations be given to the Burney Rotary Club. Being in the Rotary was a special part of his life along with his volunteer service.
