In Loving Memory of Joyce Frances Atwood December 15, 1949 – February 27, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Joyce Frances Atwood, 75, of Redding, California, on February 27, 2025. Joyce was born on December 15, 1949, in Quebec, Canada, to parents Francis and Joyce Robinson.

Joyce spent much of her life in New Hampshire before moving to California with her family. It was there that she continued to build a life full of love and joy.

In 1978, Joyce married the love of her life, Caleb Atwood. Together, they had four wonderfully tenacious boys who kept them on their toes. Joyce was a devoted mother and loved nothing more than spending time with her kids, grandkids, and the many friends who became family to her.

One of Joyce’s greatest loves was being near the water. Whether it was trips to the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean, taking a dip in Indian Pond (or various other lakes), or simply enjoying her pool, Joyce found peace and happiness by the water, surrounded by those she loved.

Joyce is survived by her four children—Benjamin, Matthew, Christopher, and Ryan—and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Caleb.

A graveside memorial service will take place at McDonald’s Funeral Chapel in Redding, California, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10 AM. After the service, a Celebration of Life gathering will follow at Huff’s Restaurant (Bridge Bay) on Shasta Lake. We invite all who knew Joyce to come share in celebrating her life and the many memories she left behind.
