Juanita Faye Spivey, the heart of her family and a woman whose love shaped generations, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the deep love of her daughter, Dana, and her grandson, Wyatt, who were blessed to call her their anchor, their comfort, and their home.
A strong and steadfast Christian, Juanita Faye lived her faith quietly but powerfully. She trusted God through every season of her life, and her strength, compassion, and grace were an extension of the faith that grounded her. She faced hardship with courage, loved without hesitation, and believed deeply in God’s promise of peace and reunion.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” — Psalm 73:26
Born with a gentle spirit and a strength that never wavered, Juanita Faye lived a life defined by kindness, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Her laughter could brighten even the hardest days, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Juanita Faye was a devoted mother to her daughter, Dana, and to her late son, David Dwayne, who preceded her in death. She was the loving wife of her late husband, David. She and her husband, David, were married for over 54 years, a loving and steadfast partnership that remained strong until his passing. She was also the cherished mother-in-law of her late son-in-law, Steve — all of whom she now joins in peaceful rest.
She was a beloved grandmother to Wyatt, who adored her, and she shared a powerful, irreplaceable bond with him. One of the greatest joys of Juanita Faye’s life was being a grandmother to Wyatt. She was there from his very first breath, holding him close and promising to love him for the rest of her life—and she kept that promise every single day. From that moment forward, she became his biggest supporter, his comfort, and his constant source of unconditional love. She walked beside him through every milestone, every challenge, and every triumph, cheering him on with a pride that she never hesitated to share with anyone who would listen. Their bond was powerful and irreplaceable—she wasn’t just his grandmother, but his safe place, his encourager, and the person who saw every bit of greatness in him long before he ever did. Being his grandma was one of her greatest blessings, and her love for him will remain one of the most enduring parts of her legacy.
Juanita Faye also opened her heart and home to her foster daughter, Maria, whom she loved as her own. In her generous and expansive way, she embraced Melissa and Crystal — the children of her son’s former partner — and claimed them as her grandchildren, giving them the same affection, pride, and unwavering support she offered to every child she called family.
Juanita Faye is also survived by her brother, Bill Ennis, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her brother, Garland, and by her parents, Wonnie and Lottie, all of whom she now reunites with in peaceful rest.
She is also survived by a large circle of family and friends who were touched by her kindness, strengthened by her faith, and forever changed by her love.
Family and friends were the greatest joys of Juanita Faye’s life. She cared with her whole heart, listened without judgment, and loved with a depth that made every person she touched feel valued and seen. Her strength carried those around her through life’s darkest moments, and her love will continue to guide them long after her passing.
Though her final months were marked by tremendous pain and struggle, Juanita Faye’s courage never wavered. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now free from suffering and reunited with her loved ones in the presence of her Savior.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” — Revelation 21:4
A memorial service and interment will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California, where Juanita Faye will be laid to rest beside her family. Details will be announced once arrangements are finalized.
Her family’s hearts are broken, but they find strength in the love she gave so freely — a love that remains, a love that endures, and a love they will carry with them always.
