Marilyn June Finck Downing

Marilyn was born in Los Angeles, California to Arthur and Luella Finck on Dec. 22, 1937.

Marilyn and Larry were married on Aug. 30, 1958 and were happily married for nearly 67 years. They lived in Washington for a year, then moved to the Los Angeles area. Around 1974 the family moved to Redding, Ca. and became members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Marilyn was very involved in her church, were she helped with the "school after school" program. Along with preparing the altar linens before and after communion she spent many years with the Stephens Ministry.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 66 years, Larry Downing Sr. of Redding, daughter Debbie Phillips of Idaho, daughter Sandi Downing (Tim Mickela) of Redding, Ca. son Larry Downing (Janene) of Idaho. Marilyn also has 8 grandchildren; Bobby Phillips, Mandy Phillips, Christopher Downing (Melissa), Ciera Downing (Hector), Katie Marshall (Cody), Sarah Crawford (Wilson), Sean Downing (Katie) and Joshua Downing. Marilyn is survived by 10 great grandchildren, Cristian, Alianna, Kyzlee, Wylie, Tommy, Kasen, Oliver, Jordan, Eleanor and Wilson Jr. Marilyn is also survived by her brother Larry Finck (Josephine) of Corona, Ca.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at McDonald's Chapel, 1275 Continental Street, Redding, CA 96001, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
