Victoria Lynn Tobolsky, age 78, passed away in Redding, Ca on September 12, 2025 with her husband Paul and close friends by her side.
Vicki was born in Long Beach, Ca on September 5, 1947 to father Ian McGregor of Vancouver Canada and Mother Reta Muriel Tomalty of Quebec Canada. After her mother passed away, Vicki and her father moved to the Bay Area in 1960 where she spent the rest of her childhood and graduated from Burlingame High School.
Vicki met and became friends with Paul Tobolsky in high school until Paul left to serve in the Navy in San Diego. Vicki had one child, David Andrews, with her first husband. After that marriage ended, she reconnected with Paul who had returned to the Bay Area. Eventually the couple married, forming a family of four with Vicki, Paul, David and Paul’s son Alexander.
In 1978, the new family moved to Seattle, Wa and lived there for five years. The family moved to Redding in 1983 where Vicki studied Business Administration at Shasta College, graduating in 1986. Vicki started childcare in their home where she created a loving, family-like environment for more than 50 children and their parents over the next 30 years.
Vicki loved to celebrate holidays by entertaining and feeding family and friends who became like family. She enjoyed seeing movies and if she wasn’t holding a baby, she would bake and cook delicious food in the kitchen of their home. Vicki usually had a fun story or anecdote to share and spread her love and care to all in her orbit. She will be missed by many and loved by a lot.
Vicki is survived by her Husband Paul Tobolsky; Son David Andrews and four grandchildren of Colorado Springs; her Sister BettyAnn Farra of Kirkland, Wa. She was preceded in death by sin Alex Tobolsky; her parents; Sisters June, Joyce and Melba; and Brother Gary (Ian).
“Vicki was loved by many throughout her life, rest in peace, my wife. Through thick and thin, I loved you and will love you forever and ever! I love you, Paul.”
Vicki’s family would like to thank Mercy Medical Center Redding Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit for the excellent care they provided. Flowers and donations can be sent to McDonald’s chapel in Redding, Ca. No services are scheduled at this time but will be held in 2026. Check back for updates.
